MMSF alumnus Dr. Jason Kindrachuk becomes new head of National Microbiology Laboratory

Dr. Jason Kindrachuk, who received MMSF funding in 2018, has joined the National Microbiology Laboratory as vice president.

The current Canada Research Chair in the Molecular Pathogenesis of Emerging Viruses and an associate professor at the University of Manitoba Max Rady College of Medicine, Dr. Kindrachuk has extensive experience with infectious diseases – including Ebola, mpox and COVID-19.

Dr. Kindrachuk was awarded MMSF funding for his project, “Characterizing the Molecular Mechanisms of Ebola Virus Persistence in a 3D Co-Culture Model of the Blood-Testis Barrier.”
